“Entertainment Experience Of The Year”

It was a lovely surprise to learn that I had been nominated for an award on a passion project I created last year. The project “Manifested – A Short Story About Angels” is an animated adventure built using A-frame and ThreeJS.

In my career I’ve won several awards for website design, but never an award for WebXR – which is a new technology that enables augmented reality and virtual reality to run within the web browser.

I was an early adopter of WebXR back in 2018, learning to develop experiences through a fascination and excitement for it’s potential. It’s a great creative outlet and real commercial curiosity. It took approximately three weeks to produce the animated story, which was professionally narrated by the talented Ron Garner.

The script which I wrote was delivered beautifully by Ron as he took the visitor through the various scenes on a spiritual adventure. Spoiler alert: contains jump scares!

The Manifested project went on to win “Entertainment Experience Of The Year” at The Polys WebXR Awards ceremony which was hosted online.
